Winning for second straight season (the first team to do that) and the third time in four years, Egghead (a.k.a. Grand Salami & Show Me The Money) has become an official dynasty.  With only 4 players from his 1999 roster having to be throw back in, Egghead was able to keep a core of Bobby Abreu, Barry Larkin, Brian Giles, Pokey Reese, Dave Veres & John Rocker. All of these players were under-valued.

Overall, Egghead had a balanced attack amassing a whopping 56 out of 60 hitting points and the most pitching points with 49.5. His hitting onslaught was led by Sammy Sosa (50 hr’s, 138 RBI, 106 runs and a .320 batting average) and Jeff Bagwell (47 hr’s, 132 RBI, 152 runs and a .310 batting average. His speed was propelled by Eric Young with 29 and Bobby Abreu with 28.

His pitching attack was led by Kevin Brown (2.64 era, 0.98 ratio) and Al Leiter (3.20 era, 1.21 ratio) on the starting side and Dave Veres (29 saves) and John Rocker (22 saves).

Honorable mention goes to the Monarchs for second place. While they and Egghead were tied with just 7 weeks to go, the Monarchs just did not have enough horses at the end of the season to compete to the finish.

It is time for the rest of the teams in the league to step up to the plate next season and knock Egghead out of the top spot.
