Winning for the second time (originally won as Mandelizers), Show Me Money easily won outdistancing second place by a record 21.5 points. The previous record for the point spread between first and second was 13 by the Mudhens in the 1991 inaugural season. Show me the money had impressive balance as they had 45.0 pitching points, the only team in the 40's in pitching and 48.0 hitting points with only one other team managing to reach the 40's with 41.0 points.
The Pitching attack boasts 4 10+ game winners led by Daryl Kile's 19 and Mike Hampton's 15. Mid season pickup Jeremy Gonzalez even had 9 nine wins supporting an already strong staff. As a result, Show Me Money set a league record of 100 wins, a record that might never be broken. On the reliever side. the mid season pickup via trade of Mark Wohlers complemented Closer Trevor Hoffman.
At the plate, the Show Me Money attack was led by Larry Walker's 49 homers and 130 rbi's along with his .366 batting average, 143 runs scored and 33 stolen bases. Right there with Walker was Barry Bonds who put up similar number with 40 homers, 101 rbi's, a .291 batting average, 123 runs scored and 37 stolen bases.
