In this strike shortened season the Flatulators led wire-to wire finishing with a 12 point lead that was never seriously challenged. They finished in first in three categories (rbi's, runs and wins) and second in three others (hr's, saves and and whip). The offensive attack was was led by Mike Piazza, just one of seven players in double digits in homers, with 24 homers and 92 rbi's along with Moises Alou's 22 and 78 and Ken Caminiti's 18 and 75. On the pitching side, The Flatulators had 2 pitchers in double digits in wins (don't forget that this was a strike shortened season that was missing 7 weeks of regular season) le by Ken Hill with a remarkable 16 and Pedro Martinez with 11.
The only other race was for 5th where Shu's Crew fell three points in the final week as Chipperless remained, enabling them to slip by Shu's Crew by a mere half point.
