In this, the inaugural season of the Vagrant Fantasy Baseball League, the Mudhens won convincingly by 13 points over the X-Men. The Mudhens captured an incredible 47.5 out of a possible 50 pitching points. His staff was anchored by 20 game winner John Smiley and strongly supported by 16 game winner Terry Mulholland and 14 game winner Mike Morgan. Of special note is the 124 strikeouts in only 82 1/3 innings by hard throwing closer Rob Dibble en route to a 3-5 record and 31 save season.
On the offensive side the Mudhens tied for the season high in hitting points with 42.0 as 8 players hit over 10 home runs led by Ron Gant with 32, George Bell with 25 and David Justice with 21. The only hitting category that the Mudhens did not finish first or second in was batting average where they finished in seventh.
